89 Days To Go (112 Day Challenge)

The walk happened ! I went out with the decision to enter the SBS June 10 km walk so thought I would try out if I could do that distance and to my surprise I did! It took me 1.44minutes which is very long but hey at least I did it. After I had finished I started to do the old head talk stuff – you know telling myself that I am slow and starting to beat myself up about it when I thought if this was my girlfriend telling me she took this amount of time would I turn around and knock her achievements by saying her time wasn’t good enough! NO! so from this walk on I’m going to start being my own best friend and pat myself on the back when I deserve it

Guess I have another new goal and that’s to better my time by walking regularly for the SBS 10 km walk.Garry is doing the walk with me even though he is up to doing it as a run.

I am planning to walk three times a week , 2 x 8kms and one 15 km next week.

Kelly a member of the site replied to one of my posts about her amazing weight loss and she is joining the journey to get rid of the weight she has let come back. Kelly said one of the things she did was weigh daily naked and Guys I know lots of people are going to not like my next statement but when I do this the weight seems to move. When I’m on a losing roll I notice I’m also weighing daily. Don’t get me wrong I’m not advocating anyone to do that at all but it works for me.

I’m off to see if i can con Garry into a foot massage after all I did walk 10 Kms today!

  1. Hi Phyllis,

I have always struggled with my weight, last week i started on a diet as you have done so well. I have been pretty good and lost over 1.5kgs in the first week and then i blew it one day and put on 1kg so quick! This is the story of my life! I have to admit I have a bad habit of eating everything and anything when nobody is looking. I realise I have to break this habit to lose weight but i am finding it almost impossible to break it. Your success stories have encouraged me to do something about my weight problem and would love to hear your suggestions on ways to break bad habits from your experience of doing the super slim down challenge. I look forward to hearing from you.

  2. Hi all,

Well last year I lost 38kgs, the first 5 on weight watchers and the rest all done by myself. Tell you what worked. Was joining a gym that understood where your from and that has a new, clean atmosphere. You want to feel fresh and revived at the end of your workout. I then went on to have a abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and this was a date booked months prior, it was my goal to take up everybody’s critism and to show them I could acheive it. I did it went from 103kg to 65kg from Jan 15 07 to 65kg on Oct 31 07. So Phyllis you can do it. Just prove everyone wrong and watch those scales drop. My theory also is do jump on the scales everyday in the morning naked the motivation I got from seeing them drop 100gm here 300gm there was enough to get me through the day and know that I am loosing and this was what I needed to stop me from cheating during a bad day. Thanks City fitness in Palmy North for all your support, I am unfortunately back up to 81kg and climbing slowly – so phyllis I will along with you kick those kgs back off and get down to 60kg with you.
