Day 102 Down (112 Day Challenge)
The Magazine ‘That’s Life” feature on my story came out this week and I have been overwhelmed by the response from people. It’s been incredible!
I have been asked lots of questions and will endeavour to answer them all over the next few weeks.
One question was , what have you tried in the past to lose weight and what worked?
I have to say most things I have tried worked when you stick to them so there’s a lesson in itself. Stick with it!
For the record I have tried :
Atkins, Weight Watchers,The Zone,Sure Slim,Cabbage soup diet, HCG,Jenny Craig, Curves Weight Management Programme, and once(about 20 years ago) when I was young and silly some diet pills for about a week prescribed by my then Doctor. (Do not recommend this!) There is probably more but I can’t recall them now. Sounds terrible when you read them in a row like this but I’m sure I’m not alone on this one!
What saddens me about the above list is that I have spent a lot of energy on trying to get thin!
They all worked when I did and stuck to them so the key is not only in what you eat but your commitment to it beyond the glow of the first bit of weight loss. That’s what I think usually happens for people, they have this rush of weight loss then when it slows down and you have to knuckle down and go for it – the novelty wears off, the “head talk” kicks in and the chocolate or whatever is your “can’t say no to food” starts calling you! You slip up one day and before you know it, it’s back to the old patterns.
Start thinking like a thin person is a tip one of my friends gave me. I’ll explore that more tomorrow.
